      Obituary of Amy L. Patrie
      Amy Louise (Willette) Patrie, 70, of Plattsburgh, NY (formerly Champlain, NY) passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the University of Vermont Medical Center, after a long illness.
      Amy, born September 21, 1950 to the late Cleophas and Alfreda (Phaneuf) Willette of Champlain, married her high school sweetheart, Leonard on September 06, 1969. Together they raised 4 children: Rachel, Randall, Jeremy and Julie. Amy is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Deacon Leonard Patrie, their 4 children and respective spouses, as well as 10 grandchildren (Daniel Patrie, Zachary Miller, Alexander Patrie, Thomas Patrie, Ezekiel Brinson, Abigail Patrie, Cassandra Ashline, Samuel Brinson, Benjamin Brinson & Kaylee Patrie). She is also survived by her sister, Julie DiPrinzio of Bethlehem, PA and her family, her brother Randall Willette of Mooers, NY and his family, and her brother-in law Phillip Patrie of Mooers, NY and his family.
      Amy was a secretary at Pfizer for 30 years and retired in 2005. Amy was an active member of Saint Mary’s Parish in Champlain, where she led adult and children’s choirs for many years. Amy loved playing the piano or guitar and singing the Lord’s praise. Amy was a Lay Associate of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. She was a devout Catholic and an active communicant at St. Mary’s in Champlain and St. John’s Parish in Plattsburgh until she suffered a stroke in 2013. After which, Amy delighted in attending services at the St. John’s XXIII Newman Center in Plattsburgh.
      She had many talents to include composing music and writing lyrics, playing multiple instruments, crafting, and writing poetry. Amy loved her family dearly and was always the proudest meme around! Spending time with her family and grandchildren always brought her great joy.
      Amy spent the last 18 months at the Plattsburgh Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Her family would like to thank the many staff that helped take care of her. Additionally, to all the technicians, nurses and staff at the HK Freedman Renal Center, thank you so much for taking care of Amy for the past 5 years.
      Visitation will be at St. Mary’s Church in Champlain on Friday May 14th at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, then internment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

      Alfreda R. "Melody Al" Willette, completed her earthly sojourn of 86 yrs. on Sept. 27, 2013 when Our Blessed Lord called her to come home to Him. Family members were with her as she embarked on her new life. She was a resident at Westminster Nursing Home in Allentown, PA.
      In 1946, Alfreda married her childhood sweetheart, Cleophas (Smiley) Willette at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Mobile, Alabama.
      Prior to moving to Bethlehem, PA, Alfreda was a life long resident of Champlain, NY. She was an active member of her community and served as President of the American Legion Post 767 Auxiliary. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and was responsible for forming the Folk Group in 1986. She was also a Third Order Fransican for the past 27 years.
      In her younger years, Alfreda (Melody Al) along with her husband Smiley Willette played on WIRY and WEAV in Plattsburgh. Additionally, they hosted the live tv show, Saturday Night Jamboree, on Channel 5 WPTZ. Their country western band 'Smiley Willette and the Sunset Ramblers' provided entertainment in Northern NY, Vermont, Quebec and Ontario. Melody Al wrote and recorded "Slave of Your Heart" and "Faraway Look In Your Eyes". Together they also recorded three LP records under the Rusticana Label from Montreal. Their last professional engagement was in 1970.
      Alfreda then joined the work force as a supervisor at Pamplon Vestments in Champlain Alfreda was an excellent cook, loved to knit, crochet and play pinochle with anyone who didn't mind losing. She fiercely loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was happiest when spending time with them. Her musical abilities were only surpassed by her love for the Lord and her Family. Her exuberant personality will be greatly missed by many.
      She is predeceased by her husband, Smiley (Cleo) Willette, her parents Antoine and Allie Phaneuf, her siblings Antoine, Albert, Richard, Madeline Barker, Margaret Clark, Theresa Leahy.
      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 86 Church St., Champlain, NY with Rev. Bill Edwards, celebrating the mass. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Church St., Champlain, NY.
